Reviews for The Rolling Stones: 11/22/1981 Checkerboard Lounge, Chicago, IL

This is such a great blues show! One of the best I’ve ever heard! The he stones really play some amazing traditional blues. Muddy Waters sings most of the songs while Mick Jagger rips it up on the harmonica! This is my favorite thing that I have ever heard from the Stones! Muddy brings some of the best blues singing and sets the tone on guitar for Kieth to really shine and show off how great of a blues guitarist he is. And the full band of The Rolling Stones working together brings Muddy’s energy up to a whole new level as he belts out these songs with such emotion and enthusiasm. I haven’t explored much of Muddy’s live performances from what I’ve heard he plays more of a slower blues and more acoustic Mississippi Delta blues and having the Stones brings the energy, volume and tempo up! The two artists play together so harmoniously and bring out the absolute best in each other! If you’re a fan of blues or a fan of rock music this is something you absolutely have to listen to!
