Reviews for Spafford: 6/17/2024 The Stephen Talkhouse, Amagansett, NY

Well, what I found lacking in the prior show certainly appeared in this one.  Soil is jammed well right out of the gate.  Back half of LTLO gets interesting - sounds like the real four-pack Spafford, with all members doing what they do best The Jam to start the second set is very good.  Better than the ones that have opened the show, IMO.  The jam features a thematic, blissy build up and subsequent peak from Mike, and gradually flows into Sham Time.   Mike gives this version a little extra mustard than what we're used to.  I can't get into Mike's tone of guitar after the "steady climb" line.  Not his fault, I'm just so accustomed to (and in love with) Brian's tone for this part.  Regardless, Cory shines in this (very) solid version. This carries over into It's a Bunch, where Cory, Jordan, and Nick find a sick groove while Mike takes a more conservative stance on the jam, at least at first.  Eventually he jumps on the groove the others have started, before they all slide into a set-closing Lonely.

Corey is a wizard. That diesel driver went to outer space. Gantzer filling in perfectly. You can't ask for a better show on a Monday night. Keep it going spafford this shits on point

What a great effort by the guys as they hold it together without BRIAN. Jordan came to play, entertain, and his vocals were spectacular. You could tell Nick was having a great time smiling and keeping the beat perfectly. Corey seems to have really stepped up if only he would smile a little bit more. Mike’s doing a nice job learning the songs and when he gets the nod, he really shreds soil was spectacular. The opening of the second set was terrific. Still great show but it would be wonderful to have Brian back wishing him well thank you for coming out to the Hamptons. We know it’s a schlep.
